Season Update

Good evening, just a little information going into this week. We have been informed that the track will be getting paved this week, therefore we are not allowed on the field; once everyone is change we will meet in the front of the field house. If anyone is interested in buying team gear please see the link to the right labeled Track Gear and it will take you to the site.

Parents, on Saturday we will be attending the Future Stars meet at West Orange HS, we will be working the concession stand and need volunteers. If you are available and interested in helping out please email mhstrackandxcboosterclub@gmail.com.

Reminder, there will be no practice today athletes should do the following home workout below.

Distance: varsity, do an easy 12.5 miles. JV 8 and freshman 6. Followed by glute and hip strength, cut to the core and runner flexibility on the Nike app.

Throwers: Up for speed, the circuit breaker, core strength and the perfect 10 on the Nike app.

Sprinters & Jumpers: easy 20 minute run followed by fresh on the circuit, cut to the core, glute and hip strength, core strength and runner flexibility on the Nike app.

Home workout

Warm up:
Jumping Jacks for 1 minute then hold a 1 minute plank. Rest for 30 seconds and repeat 5 times.

Workout:
High Knees for 1 minute high knees
California Jumping Jacks for 2 minutes
Squat for 1 minute
Push-ups for 30 seconds
Lunge for 1 minute
1 minute rest
Repeat 6 times

Core:
25 Bicycle Crunches
20 Reverse Crunches
1 minute plant (30 sec elbows/30 sec hands)
1 minute rest
Repeat 7 times

April 23

Tomorrow varsity distance and sprinters will meet at 9am at the brookdale track; all other sprinters and distance athletes should arrive at 10am. Jumpers, hurdlers and throwers will meet at Woodman at 1oam.

Weekend update

As stated is yesterday’s team meeting athletes will not be competing this weekend due to the lack of attendance/athletes available to compete. There will be no practice tomorrow for freshman and JV athletes unless you have been informed by your event coach. Varsity runners and those who lift will meet at 8am, throwers and hurdlers will meet at 9am at woodman field. The schedule for spring break practice will be posted tomorrow evening. All athletes should do the following workouts on the Nike app tomorrow.

1) runner warm up
2) super twist core series
3) 5 minute plank finisher
4) Glute and hip strength
5) Runner flexibility

TCNJ Open

The order of events and list for tomorrow's meet has been posted. The bus will be leaving from Woodman field at 6:30am; tomorrow is a high of 77, however it will be cooler in the am so make sure you all come in layers. As you can see from the order of events the last event will go off at 3:45 so please come prepared with food/snacks and money to purchase items from the concession stand if need be. Please be on time for the bus and make sure you are all staying hydrated tonight and throughout the day tomorrow.

Our dual meet against East Orange and Livingston at Livingston will be tomorrow, not today. Today there will be regular practice at woodman field.

Mountie Relays

Athletes make sure you check the list of who is competing tomorrow. If you are competing the bus will be leaving from Woodman field at 7am. If you are competing on varsity you will race in your jerseys, athletes competing Frosh/soph will race in their t-shirt. Be on time for the bus and come ready to compete.

Friday April 5th, JV and freshman athletes will have the day off please do the nike app workouts below. Varsity athletes will meet at woodman after school tomorrow, please be on time; the sooner we get started the sooner you will be home. The list for Saturday´s meet has been posted (under tab titled order of events), all athletes competing must report to woodman field at 6:50am as we will be pulling off at 7am.

Bloomfield Meet

Tomorrow we will be competing against Bloomfield, only athletes who were at practice today will compete. The bus will leave at 3pm so please be on time and wear layers; if you do not have layers you will not get on the bus. EVERYONE will compete in their white t-shirts, bring spikes if you have them.

April 3rd

Just a reminder, we will be taking team pictures tomorrow at woodman field. All athletes are asked to bring their white track shirts that were given out last Friday. If you did not receive one you will receive it tomorrow. Come to woodman immediately after school change for practice and then head to the multipurpose room. After the team pictures we will have practice; due to not having access to woodman field until 5pm varsity sprinters should expect to have a longer practice tomorrow.
