There will be a meeting tomorrow after school in the cafeteria on the main building for all interested in participating in Spring track and field.
Winter track athletes change before coming to the meeting we will head to practice immediately afterwards.

Metropolitan Invitational
The event list has been posted for the meet tomorrow. Just so you are aware, this meet goes a bit late, and the estimated time returning to MHS will be 9:30/10 pm. If this is an issue please email Coach Wallace or Coach Washington tonight.
You will be excused from your 8th period class, an email will be sent to your teachers notifying them on your excused absence.So that means after your 7th period class please report to Midland Ave. Also bring plenty of snacks and drinks because you will not be allowed to leave the venue under any circumstances.
For those individuals not running tomorrow you will have a day off and we will see you all Thursday.
We are now entering the championship part of the season, so it is imperative to come to practice consistently and with the right attitude because at any time based on what the coaching staff sees things can change.
We are proud of you all being so diligent in your studying and commitment during the midterms and we look for the same commitment during the remainder of the season.
Throwers hopefully there are wonderful performances from tonight. You will have tomorrow off as well and be ready for Randolph Field meet on Thursday. Meet on Midland Avenue Thursday January 31, 2013 at 2:45 pm

Those athletes whose names are located on the "Paul Schwartz Invitational" event list you will be competing on Friday at FDU meet beginning at 4:30pm. You will NOT have practice tomorrow Thursday January 24, 2013. Please make sure you are on Midland Ave Friday January 25, 2013 at 2:45pm.
We understand this is midterm time and we are trying to work with everyone's schedule as well as giving you opportunities to compete. If your name is not on the event list for Paul Schwartz you will have practice tomorrow Thursday January 24, 2013. Please meet in the basement level for practice at 3pm.

There is no practice on Monday January 21, 2013. If you can, try to get this workout in early as possible.
Sprinters (55-800) : 20 - 25 minute run, drills, stretch and core circuit (see below)
Distance (800-3200) : 5 mile steady run, drills, stretch and core circuit (see below)
Throwers : 10 - 15 minute run dynamics, drills, stretch and core circuit (see below)

25 Jumping Jacks
25 Lunges (each side)
25 Pushups
30 second Planks
25 Bicycle crunches
10 Squat jumpps
REPEAT THIS CIRCUIT THREE TIMES

Helpful hints moving forward :)
The meet on Tuesday January 15 is a meet for the field athletes. Coach Lenczuk will announce the line up in practice tomorrow. The bus will leave from midland ave at 2:45pm. Remember in order to be considered to compete you must be consistent with practice.
For the runners, we have two complete weeks of training. Make sure you are getting adequate amounts of rest, eating healthy foods staying hydrated, stretching and icing any ailments.
Midterms begin Thursday January 24, please do not wait until next Monday to begin studying. If you devote 30-45 minutes daily to each subject it's easier to retain information as opposed to cramming the night before. Hope these helpful hints come in handy :)

Change in Schedule
There has been a change in time for the Essex County Relay meet on Sunday January 6, 2013. It will begin at 9am, not 4:30pm. On Saturday we will discuss as a team the specific days of competition for each of you. See you tomorrow :-)
The meet on Wednesday January 2, 2013 is a field meet at Garfield HS for the following individuals :Deidre Johnson, Alana Robinson, Christina Daniskas, Marthe Emogene, Ericka Henry, Amos Campbell, Sam Reimnitz, Terrel Colvin- Raison, Mario Sokolik, Marcelle Brown, Isaiah Smith, Erin Byers, Jason Campbell, and Stanley Charles. The bus will be at 4:30pm on Midland Ave. Come down to Midland to receive your instructions on what to do until departure time.
If you name is not on this list come prepared for practice on Wednesday.
