Feb. 27

Today hurdlers will meet Coach Kornegay on the 2nd floor of the main building at 3pm. Offsite practice will leave from Midland ave at 2:45.

Practice Cancelled

Due to after school activities being cancelled there will be no practice today. Athletes are asked to do the workouts below on the nike app. Tomorrow the bus will leave for offsite practice at 2:45 from Midland ave.

The list and order of events for tomorrow has been posted. The bus will be leaving from woodman field at 6:30am, athletes please be on time. Tomorrow is the first round of state competition we must come looking like a team and ready to push ourselves.

Feb. 19th

Hurdlers will meet coach Kornegay on the second floor of the main building and throwers will meet coach Henry in the annex gym. Everyone else will have the day off (home workout below), for those that need treatment see the trainer after school (bike and ice bath). 

On Friday we will be taking our varsity Track and Cross Country team pictures at 2:50pm in the multipurpose room at woodman field. Varsity athletes bring black pants and blue or black long sleeve shirts, varsity cross country bring navy blue t-shirt from this season.

Essex County Championship

Tomorrow athletes competing will be excused from their 8th and 9th period classes and the bus will be leaving from Midland ave at 2pm. Use the time wisely, get homework done and make sure you come to the bus dressed and ready to compete. Athletes come prepared and ready to compete, bring food/snacks and money for concession stand if need be. All athletes must wear black pants, Montclair long sleeve tees and blue Montclair jackets or sweatshirt.

Feb. 17th

Tomorrow varsity athletes will meet at woodman field at 9am

Purple Champion Invite

The bus will be leaving from Midland avenue tomorrow morning; all athletes competing should be there no later than 6:55am. Also, the schedule has changed please see document for meet for time changes. Athletes come prepared to compete, most of you need this meet for faster seed times or to earn a spot for our County Championship on Wednesday and others we are using this as race prep. Come hungry and read to leave it on the track and in the circle.

Feb. 14th

Freshman and JV will be off today. Throwers meet in the annex, everyone else should report to woodman field after school. The list of athletes competing and events has been posted, the bus will be leaving from Midland ave at 6:50am.

There will be a pasta party tonight at 363 Park street beginning at 6:15. Pasta will be made however if you plan on going please bring healthy side dishes and drinks. Not mandatory but a good way/time to get to know your teammates outside of meets/practice.

Feb. 11th

Today freshman, jv and hurdlers will meet on the 2nd floor of the main building. Throwers will meet in the annex and those going to ocean breeze will leave from Midland ave at 2:40.

Parents, tonight at 6pm the athletic department will hold its spring sports information meeting. Please attend so that you can receive updates pertaining to the season ahead. As we are still deep in the winter season Coach Washington will not be available tonight. However, there will be a representative for the track team available with information flyers after the athletic departments part is finished. Please keep an eye on this blog for all information regarding the season and when the team will have its official parent meeting where will discuss the season ahead, fundraisers, booster club information etc.

Today throwers will meet in the annex gym, everyone else should report to woodman field. Freshman and JV athletes, if you have not returned your uniform you need to have them in by this week or your parents will be billed.

February 7th & 8th

The list for this weekends meet has been posted, athletes should report to woodman on saturday at 6:30am. Tomorrow throwers will meet in the annex gym after school, varsity runners will meet at woodman and freshman/JV have the day off. All athletes running should bring the spikes they will be competing in on saturday to practice tomorrow.

Athletes interested in spring sports; if you did not turn in your paperwork today Ms. Covello will be taking them tomorrow during lunch ONLY. This will be the last time paper work will be collected, so if you do not turn in your paperwork you will not be a part of the spring team. Also, the team store is still open so athletes and parents please help support the team as this is our fundraiser for the season. It can be found on the right hand side of the blog (team gear link).

Varsity Classic

The order of events and list of athletes competing tomorrow has been posted. The bus will be leaving from Midland avenue at 2:30; athletes will be excused from the last period of the day. However, if you need to go to the first few minutes of the class that is okay, but please come to the bus dressed as we will pull off at 2:30. Do not forget food, snacks and water/gatorade and funds for the concession stand if need be. Also, for those of you doing spring, this week is the last week to turn in paperwork and speak to your parents about doing their part on Genesis as Thursday is the last day for all spring documentation.
